About this workout
Test to identify MLSS (Maximal Lactate Steady State). Measurements are taken at 3m & 9m of each 10m interval. The test is over when lactate increases by more than 1.0 mmol during that tier. When that happens, your MLSS is between that tier and the prior tier. Lactate meter required. Warmup is 15m at 80-90% of 1st tier. The middle tier is the expected last tier with less than a 1.0 mmol increase. Should only require 3 tiers, due to the difficulty of the test.
